Remember Who You Are" would have been good advice when they went into the studio. This turned out to be a bland and dull outing for a band that tends to kick things up a notch when plugged in.
Korn's Untitled
at least had the track "
Evolution
" that one could walk away with, but this leaves the listener with nothing new, fresh or innovative. The trademark vocal work from
Jonathan Davis
is emotional enough to convey his feelings, but that spark of youth and spontaneity to his deliver has faded away... along with my patience for this band. For fans of
Korn
, it's probably more of the same, and that's fine for most. I just lost interest in this
album
2 tracks in. I didn't even bother watching the
bonus DVD on the
Special Edition, because frankly, I just don't give a damn enough about the music to sit through in-studio recording sessions.
Should require assistance with bodily fluids I've got your back. I was one of poor korn fans who had hopes for this album and was epically let down (again). However I had the rare gift of not being the one who paid for this sorry excuse for an album just had someone waste their money on a birthday gift. I submit that Jonathan Davis has lost his spark of youth and spontaneity because he is no longer young. We so often forget when we put people on pedestals that they grow old and change even when we don't want them to.
ReplyDeleteFor me things just fell through with See You On the Other Side. I admit there were of few decent tracks on there but looking back on it...I should have just given up on them at Take A Look in the Mirror
ReplyDeleteHonestly I disagree with you guys. Though the Untitled album was their worst. I personally loved Take a Look In The Mirror and See You On The Other Side. And the new album I thought was really good. IDC what anyone says about this album. It was good to me. It could have been longer though to be honest.

ReplyDeleteAvenged Sevenfold should be on your shit list. They call themselves "heavy metal". All they do is scream then sing like they are a boyband with emo music in the backround. They call themselves "heavy metal" while they wear eye-liner and make up? wtf?! Plus they rip scriptures from the bible to use for lyrics. Total lack of originality.

ReplyDeleteBut I have to admit, the album cover really caught my eye. I have a hard time looking away from it. Both versions. Too bad I can't really get into the music after previewing a few clips. Very sad.
