4y-Records : The Left Rights Special

Very rarely will I work with anyone... like never actually, but since Jimmy Urine of Mindless Self Indulgence & The Left Rights asked for a video...I was like... "Hey, this man does not suck. Let me hook a brotha up"... so he got hooked up with a music video....It's sort of a music video... at least the way I would do one in my wacky head. The Left Rights are a side project of Jimmy Urine & Steve Righ? of Mindless Self Indulgence. The tracks in the toon are from the upcoming album "Bad Choices Made Easy". If you don't know either of the bands mentioned, you should really check them out. M.S.I. are one of the few bands that makes me have a little hope for the music industry and The Left Rights are a unique and fun listen. So there ya go. ENJOY!!!!!

  1. I have to say that I loved this cartoon. Brilliantly said and done. I guess people get comfortable with what they like, and can't seem to jump out of their rut. I may be missing the point somewhat with the following comparison, but it's kind of like Michael Bublé: he doesn't do much new stuff, just the old Cole Porter/1930-50 jazz standards; not to say it's a bad thing, but it's just another (not so good) re-hashing of great songs. Tony Bennett Michael isn't.

I have to say that I'm not all that taken by the Left-Rights (I'm not much for that style), but I'll check out M.S.I. in just a bit, and see what they're about.

  2. Loved this cartoon. People just don't seem to appreciate what is different. Respect it, at least.

  5. Well, I took a listen to M.S.I., and I can honestly say that I'm not taken by them. I'll give them avant-guarde, and in-your-face, but... Maybe it's my upbringing with my able-to-conduct-an-orchestra father talking here, but I found M.S.I. to be very... "messy" is the only word I can think of.

It's almost feels like they're self-taught musicians, and that they wanted to play with too many styles and tempos in each song. (Once again, I'm more than likely missing J.I.M.'s point.)

But, each to their own. Really, music is what you make of it; what one person really likes is something that turns another off. *shrug* At least I tried three songs, before making a conclusion...

  6. Got the Cd didn't like most of it but the over all style is a yes. If I found another one of their cds I'd buy it just to see what they came up with. Its like a broken lava lamp you know its not guna work right but u gotta stare at it just in case. I appreciate that they are attempting something different. At least someone is hazarding that oh so dangerous road.I hope one person buying their cd's makes a difference.
